Mantiqueira

This lot comes from the COCARIVE Cooperative, located in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais. It is made up mainly of small farmers in the region; 80% of its fazendas are less than 7 hectares and are located in the Serra de Mantiqueira.

The region is being recognized not only as one of the best coffee-producing areas in Brazil, but also for its unique character, which has earned it Protected Designation of Origin status.

Producers from Mantiqueira de Minas have won more than 358 Cup of Excellence awards, including the highest score ever achieved by any coffee from any country.

After harvesting the ripe cherries, a natural processing is carried out. The cherries are sun-dried in patios and then canopies for several days before they reach the correct moisture level.
