Sparkling, fruity and tropical, with an intense and prolonged aftertaste of cacao nibs and brown spices.
The Story
Gasharu Coffee’s history dates back to 1976, but today under the leadership of Valentin Kimenyi, it has maintained an unwavering dedication to growing the highest quality coffee possible. They have improved their sourcing and processing methods, fostering curiosity about innovative ideas to take coffee to the next level, producing naturals, honeys and experiments.
Located on the shores of Lake Kivu and a stone’s throw from Nyungwe National Park, the Gasharu Washing Station is located near the Nile mountain range in Rwanda, Congo. Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of the largest and best preserved tropical montane forests in Central Africa, home to enormous biodiversity and approximately 25% of Africa’s primates. The elevation, soil and climate of this region are what coffee trees like best.
